lpv:translated text	"Mr President, the continuing crisis in the euro area has brought all of us – European institutions, Member States and political leaders – face to face with our responsibilities. We must take the initiative away from the markets; we must provide an integrated and convincing response to the crisis by supplementing – not replacing or overlooking – the responsibilities that the Member States have assumed to honour their obligations. Within this context, high-profile Europeans, political parties, the public in their demonstrations and European trade unions are arguing that Eurobonds can play a key role in overcoming the debt crisis and safeguarding the stability of the euro. I should therefore like to point out that the Council needs to respond immediately to the demand formulated by the European Parliament in its resolution of 16 December 2010 and send a clear signal to the European Commission, so that it can study the matter in detail and submit specific proposals."@en1
