"Mr President, Commissioner, I have listened to your reply to my honourable friend’s question, but I should like to bring your attention to the following, to what is happening on the ground.
The figures for the unemployed in Greece in 2009 were 20% for young unemployed men and 34% for young unemployed women. This situation got worse after the International Monetary Fund had become involved. At the same time, two programmes funded by the European Union through the National Strategic Reference Framework have take-up rates of 1.9 and 3.2.
So the question is this: why this low take-up rate in Greece? Is the Greek Government to blame? And secondly, is the Commission considering any additional measures to address this employment problem?"@en1
