lpv:translated text	"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I support my fellow Members’ request for the Commission to undertake an assessment concerning the implementation of the EU-Russia visa facilitation agreement. This shows the common intention of the parties to strive for the complete abolition of visa requirements in the long term, in view of the impact that appropriate implementation of the objectives of facilitating and simplifying visa issuance procedures could have both on individuals and on the development of economic and trade relationships. I believe, therefore, that it is important to monitor the implementation of this agreement; this would allow for considerable development of concrete personal, cultural, scientific and economic links between the European Union and its main Western European negotiating partner."@en1
