".
The agreement negotiated is an important step in the fight against counterfeiting, and is a key element in the EU’s political strategy for ensuring justice, a level playing-field for European producers, the preservation of jobs for citizens, and respect for the rule of law. ACTA is a tool that makes existing standards more effective, thus benefiting exports from the EU and protecting rights-holders when they operate within the global market.
