"This agreement gives the green light to the European Union to make use of technology from Japan, which is one of the most progressive industrial nations. This is a great step forward on the part of the European Union. However, I should like to hope that this cooperation will be two-way, as the experience of working with Japanese companies indicates that the Japanese side does not always abide by this principle. I am voting in favour, in the hope that not only Japan but also the European Union will benefit from this cooperation."@en1
