"Mr President, the work programme submitted is ambitious. It includes areas which will help to fulfil the 2020 strategy. Much is said there, but I would rather inquire into what is not said, or not fully said. Specifically, how does the Commission want to prioritise the accelerated adoption of urgent proposals? I place the emphasis on accelerated adoption. We all know what a lengthy business European legislation is.
I would also like to ask – the programme ends by emphasising cooperation between the Commission, the European Parliament and the Council. My question is: Do you think that constructive cooperation with the Council is possible when there is no tone of cooperation being sounded by Mrs Merkel and Mr Sarkozy?"@en1
