"Thanks to the Stockholm Programme, the citizens of Member States will be able to assert their rights throughout the European Union in the fields of civil, commercial and labour law. The programme offers advantages and greater transparency to citizens. It also improves the consistency of our system of legal regulations in the European Union.
However, in order to build systems which are more uniform, it is essential that there be greater coordination of what we do and that experience be exchanged between the countries of the Union. This concerns, to a large degree, the justice system, including the extremely important questions of migration and the fight against organised crime. A very important matter, particularly during the current economic problems, will be development of effective mechanisms of action in the area of strengthening the single market and economic integration, by which I mean more liberal principles of commercial exchange between the countries of the European Union and the establishment of legislation on commercial exchange between third countries. From the point of view of the participants of economic processes, it is necessary, above all, to specify businesses’ and consumers’ rights of protection and to continue to monitor effectively the implementation and enforcement of legal regulations in the area of the single market."@en1
