lpv:translated text	"The Agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between the European Community and Ukraine was signed in Copenhagen on 4 July 2002 and came into force on 11 February 2003. Given the importance of the science and technology sectors to the EU, its capacity in these areas and the important role that it can play alongside Ukraine, I believe that the renewal of the agreement is in the Union’s interests, in the sense of continuing to promote cooperation with Ukraine in areas of science and technology that are shared priorities and which are beneficial to both parties.
