lpv:translated text	"I support this report. We are now facing a twofold crisis – a high unemployment rate among young people coupled with a question mark over retirement pension funding. These two phenomena are related and therefore, they should be dealt with together. Demographic change is manageable and sustainable if it is properly anticipated and taken seriously by everyone. The Member States possess the main instruments for ensuring balance between the generations and ending unfair discrimination. Where there is insufficient monitoring of pension systems, national budgets, healthcare, education and employment policy, structural reforms should be carried out and new sustainable solutions found. At the same time, the EU should be responsible for exchanges of best practice between the Member States, for monitoring the implementation of EU legislation in the Member States, and for taking the initiative in adopting new legislation in these fields."@en1
