"Mr President, Commissioner, the updated IMF/EU Memorandum for Greece states that the government must introduce a mechanism to ensure that the electricity bills regulated under it gradually reflect wholesale market prices between now and no later than June 2013.
In other words, we are calling on the Greek Government to increase the price of electricity at the expense of consumers, especially the vulnerable members of society, and the economy.
What impact will these measures have on output and growth in Greece? Will these measures, will higher bills, get Greece out of the crisis and out from under the supervision of the International Monetary Fund?
Finally, just last week, we received a reply from Mr Rehn about spiralling inflation, which has reached 5.6%. What impact will these measures have on inflation?"@en1
