"I support this report. According to the employment policy guidelines, Member States must make every effort to achieve the most important objective – to ensure sustainable growth and strengthen job creation. We must also resolve Member States’ long-term problems: demographic change, globalisation and the creation of new technologies. To achieve this we must invest in sustainable growth that would promote the preservation of existing jobs and the emergence of new jobs, with particular attention paid to small and medium-sized enterprises, which create most jobs in Europe. We must also pursue the following social objectives of employment: promoting quality education and lifelong learning among existing and future workers; combating unemployment, paying particular attention to promoting the employment of young people, the elderly, the disabled and women, and viewing non-standard work contracts more favourably."@en1
