".
I voted for the motion for a resolution initiated by the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats) as it proposes consistent, long-term measures aimed at resolving the Roma problem in the European Union. The PPE Group’s motion for a resolution also featured explicitly and directly the request for Romania’s accession to the Schengen area not to be linked to the Roma issue. Following the rejection of this motion, I voted for the joint motion for a resolution from the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament and others, which, although less extensive, offers a largely fair point of view."@en1
