"The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) is succeeding well in its efforts to address the effects of large-scale unemployment in Ireland and Europe. The EGF was established in 2007 in response to the problems and challenges of globalisation.
This initiative is equivalent to EUR 500 million a year. It provides aid and assistance to regions where there has been more than 1 000 redundancies as a result of companies relocating because of changes in global circumstances. Once again, the European Union is tackling the problem of unemployment in Ireland. Both the EGF and the European Social Fund are crucial in this regard."@en1
