It is hard for the EU institutions to communicate with the European public, as the majority of them do not understand the usefulness of the various institutions which comprise the EU. It is therefore time to present ways in which to increase the European public’s involvement in matters relating to the EU. We need to find ways of communicating that manage to initiate, encourage and further European debate and the flow of information, whether this is done through increased discussion of European matters in national media or through a European public sphere. Therefore, creating a public sphere in Europe is an essential step towards better understanding of European events by the entire population of the Member States."@en1
