lpv:translated text	"The Republic of Moldova’s economy has been severely hit by the global financial crisis, as highlighted by the deterioration in its budgetary position and its growing need for external financing. Due to the decline in the economic situation, the Republic of Moldova has requested macro-financial assistance from the European Union. I voted in favour of granting this assistance as I believe that the European Union must be involved, along with the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank and other international institutions, in alleviating the difficult situation which the Republic of Moldova is in. This aid will provide proper support to the government in Chişinău in terms of funding the balance of payments deficit and other budgetary needs. At the same time, this measure will strengthen bilateral relations between this state and the European Union and enable the EU to show its solidarity to a state which is a signatory of the Eastern Partnership."@en1
