lpv:translated text	"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, I voted in favour of this report because I am convinced that the creation of the European External Action Service (EEAS) is a fundamental step, a historic step in the development and evolution of EU foreign policy. I especially welcome the passage in the report which stresses the importance of ensuring greater policy coherence of the EU’s external action as a whole through consultations between the EEAS and Member States’ diplomatic services. This would avoid duplication of work while ensuring long-term consistency in the promotion of the EU’s strategic interests and fundamental values abroad."@en1
