Unfortunately, the main cause of this phenomenon is illegal logging. I therefore believe that it is essential that the EU makes a decisive effort to fight the use and sale of illegally obtained wood, which currently accounts for 20-40% of all industrial timber. Hence, I am voting in favour of this report in the hope of being able to cut the use of illegally obtained timber in Europe."@en1
