It shows that this House is united in taking this issue seriously and sends a clear message to the other institutions as well as to the Member States. The Scottish Government only last month published a Zero Waste Plan which deals with many of the issues discussed in the Commission’s Green Paper. Action must be taken at the EU level and today’s vote should ensure that progress is made."@en1
