Can the Commission tell us what assessment has been made of Colombia’s likely reaction to the signing of the FTA? What analysis have they carried out to prove or otherwise that this will help the human rights situation rather than hinder the human rights situation? I have heard what the Commissioner said about the suspension clause. I welcome that but, before we sign such an agreement, we have to be clear that such an agreement will advance human rights and not move them backwards.
