lpv:translated text	"The report by Mrs Figueiredo is an own-initiative report on the assessment of the 2006-2010 Road map for Equality between men and women. This road map identifies six priority areas for action in order to bring about greater gender equality: strengthening the economic independence of women; reconciliation of private and professional life; equality of gender representation in decision-making positions; eradicating violence against women; eradicating gender stereotypes; and promoting gender equality in third countries. While I naturally agree with these objectives, Mrs Figueiredo’s report, in trying to list certain measures, often appears excessive, which risks being counterproductive to the cause of gender equality. I therefore voted against this resolution."@en1
