"The European Union, and in particular the European Parliament, had a duty to respond in order to condemn Israel’s deadly military operation on 31 May 2010 against the humanitarian flotilla and, to a greater extent, the Gaza blockade. Like many European citizens, I was particularly shocked by the Israeli attack, which has once again violated international law; I therefore voted in favour of this resolution, which, among other things, speaks out in favour of establishing an impartial and independent committee of inquiry into the attack, and encourages the resumption of the peace process between Israel and Palestine, which is important to the stability of the region."@en1
