lpv:translated text	"− I would like to offer my condolences and pledge my heartfelt support to those affected by the recent flooding in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic. As permanent rapporteur for the European Solidarity Fund, I ask the Commission to act quickly and with maximum flexibility to enact the procedures aimed at mobilising the Fund as soon as the Member States have presented their requests. I believe it is also fundamental to implement the action of the European Solidarity Fund. I therefore urge the Spanish Presidency and the Commission to act on Parliament’s suggestions. Back in May 2006 a majority in this House had already recognised the need to make this support instrument, which is so important and of the utmost urgency, more flexible and powerful."@en1
