"Mr President, I did not take part in the vote at all, because the text contains substantive errors which are so serious that I think it should not have come before us at all. I share the opinion of my colleagues from the Group of the European People’s Party (Christian Democrats), as well as that of Mr Takkula, that condemning Israel now, and saying that the country has violated international law, before the international commission has said anything, while at the same time making demands of the commission, is pointless and completely divorced from reality. Besides, those who were in the flotilla and who were transporting the goods to Gaza are addressed in the text in one way, while the authorities and citizens of Israel are addressed in another way, which causes unnecessary and unjustified emotion."@en1
