"Mr President, ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, I could not support the group of four compromise amendments, because Estonia and Latvia were left out of the rail corridor described in Annex I, point 8. Taking into account the future of the railway in general, as well as the Rail Baltica project, one would have expected that this corridor would also include Tallinn and Riga. Unfortunately, the adopted amendments restricted our options – those of Estonia and Latvia – and, as a result, we have moved no closer to linking up all the European Union Member States into a uniform railway system."@en1
