lpv:spoken text	"I support all efforts to make rail freight more effective, because of its environmental advantages compared to road freight. However, I want to make it clear that I oppose the ongoing liberalisation of railways in the European Union, which is responsible for the fragmentation and ineffectiveness of rail freight today, as well as the lack of investment in this area. This compromise with the Council is an effort to improve the situation. Therefore, I am voting in favour, even though it builds on the liberalisation that I strongly oppose. This vote does not concern deregulation, which is already provided for in the treaty."@en1
