"I decided to vote for this motion for a resolution as it highlights the problems inherent in the European Commission’s proposal on the Motor Vehicle Block Exemption Regulation.
The recommendation from the European executive to amend certain clauses in the current regulation in this field, by specifically imposing the obligation on car intermediaries to make up to 80% of their sales from a single car make, could increase the latter’s dependency on manufacturers, with the risk of restricting competition in the sector and having a detrimental impact on the options available to consumers."@en1
