Therefore, they must objectively and rigorously account for how the public funds made available to them have been used. The Court of Auditors states that it has obtained reasonable assurance that the annual accounts of the Euratom Supply Agency are reliable and that the underlying transactions are legal and regular. It should be noted that in 2008 the Agency did not receive any subsidy to cover its operations and the Commission bore all expenses incurred by the Agency for the implementation of the 2008 budget. It should also be noted that the commitments carried over from the financial year 2007 were paid with the unused part of the 2007 subsidy. To all effects, therefore, in the absence of an autonomous budget, the Agency is integrated in the Commission. That may raise questions regarding its structure and autonomy, which can be examined in the future."@en1
