Too often, that issue is literally kept behind closed doors, because that is where most of the violence happens: in the family home. I believe that your initiative will certainly lead to greater public awareness across the EU. You spoke of the resolution adopted by the European Parliament in November 2009. One of the things that resolution asked for was the possibility of establishing a clear legal basis in this area. I wonder whether you would be supportive of the Commission drafting a comprehensive directive on action to prevent gender violence, and what your view is on establishing a clear legal basis."@en1
