"I will be in favour of it if Member States agree, because I think it should be possible to harmonise the security and safety rules at our airports. What happens now is that some of our Member States are introducing body scanners at their airports. Others are not. As you know, the Commission presented a proposal for body scanners some time ago that was refused. This does, of course, raise some concerns but we should try to find, if possible, a harmonised position regarding the utilisation of any security device at European airports. If not, we will have a kind of discrimination in the evaluation of security at our airports."@en1
