"As Hungarian Members of Parliament, we are in a special position when we are to vote and decide whether to make it possible for third-country nationals to move more freely within the European Union or, on the contrary, try to impede it. Due to the tragedy of Trianon, Hungary lost a great part of its territory, and we have a large number of Hungarian compatriots living outside the borders of present-day Hungary, and thus outside the current borders of the European Union, in the former Southern Region and Subcarpathia. Our compatriots are in a very humiliating position when they study or work in research or other areas in their own truncated country, and are not allowed to leave the territory of Hungary. This is an extremely poor and intolerable situation we need to take action against. This is why we, Hungarian Members of Parliament of Hungarian sentiment, will vote for this proposal in order to bring an end to this ridiculous position."@en1
