lpv:translated text	"( ) We have some doubts as to the formulation of the proposal which seeks to widen the scope of the directive, extending ‘cooperation between Member States to cover taxes of any kind’, and the fact that it ‘shall also apply to compulsory social security contributions payable to the Member State or a subdivision of the Member State or to social security institutions established under public law’. We disagree that the officials of a Member State should be given the authority to act within the territory of other Member States, so we believe that Parliament’s proposal to limit the issue to cases where there is agreement between the Member States is the correct approach, at the very least. We also have our doubts about the requirement for the automatic exchange of information about the tax habits of individuals, although there are some references to data protection, particularly in the report by Parliament. We will be carefully watching the treatment of these issues as they progress."@en1
