"It is clearly stated in the Lisbon Treaty that the internal organisation of the College and the Commission services is a responsibility of the Commission.
I am always ready to listen to your suggestions and to your comments. In fact, some of the innovations were as a result of some debates with your group and other groups. I count on your support for the full respect of the competences of the Commission, as I will always respect the competences of Parliament.
I am always open to listening to your suggestions but I think we should concentrate more on matters of policy, of substance. Regarding the organisation of the Commission, I believe that after five years of everyday work in the Commission, I am pretty well informed about the best ways of allocating resources inside the Commission."@en1
