"I am in favour of the state providing microfinance to individuals to help them to establish small businesses. However, I am opposed to the European Union carrying out this function. Nevertheless, I did vote in favour of some amendments because it was always likely that the resolution would be carried and I wished to improve the resolution as much as possible. The ‘blocking’ of the votes on several amendments prevented me from voting separately on some amendments."@en1
