We have indeed tried to highlight this issue, which is, of course, the framework that the EU affords to work within: holding conferences, producing studies, setting out timetables to ensure that everything continues to move forward, as well as securing the involvement of future presidencies. I am pleased that we were able to clear up the misunderstanding that clearly arose. The intention was for there to be an interim report, which of course is just as important and which we will look at and analyse, but that the final assessment would come in 2012. In the meantime, there is a tremendous amount to do and I can also confirm that many Member States are doing a tremendous amount, as everyone in all the Member States has been made aware of the effects that alcohol consumption has on health."@en1
