When Regulation (EC) No 717/2007 was adopted, the price of calls between networks did not fall markedly, but remained near the upper limit set by the regulation. I think the regulation’s area of application must be extended to include SMS. As a result of the unduly high prices which consumers have to pay, it seems that, unfortunately, at the moment the regulation of wholesale and retail SMS prices is necessary, and I am therefore voting for this regulation."@en1
