The motion for a resolution submitted by the five largest groups in Parliament contains many important perspectives on European history over the last 100 years. The amendments, especially those by the Union for Europe of the Nations Group, are also praiseworthy, but, for editorial reasons, not everything that has been proposed can be included in the text of the resolution. There are many tragedies and individual acts of heroism which could be recounted in a resolution on European conscience and totalitarianism. Unfortunately, we do not have space for everything and that is why we were forced to vote against some of the amendments to the resolution.
We did vote in favour of the resolution as a whole, however."@en1
