lpv:translated text	". − As the Dutch Christian Democrats (CDA) have always strongly argued for rules to ensure the equal treatment of people irrespective of their religion, belief, disability, age or sexual orientation, we are in favour of the spirit of this directive. However, legislation in this area must be well thought-out. The CDA considers many legal definitions in the text extremely ambiguous and expects – like many others – that the text will result in all kinds of legal proceedings. The CDA is opposed to the proposal to reverse the burden of proof. To us, someone is innocent until proven guilty. The CDA cannot identify with the proposal that it is to be up to people against whom charges are brought to prove their innocence. Moreover, we regret that the Socialist Group in the European Parliament and the Group of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe, apparently feeling the pressure of the elections, have brought even more imbalance to this text by introducing numerous new elements and through split votes. For this reason, the CDA did not feel able to endorse this report."@en1
