) The Danish Liberal Party’s MEPs have voted against this report. We are in favour of the free movement of workers and of ensuring that the Member States comply with the directive. However, we are opposed to the possibility of legalising unlawful residence through marriage to a migrant worker, as reflected in the Metock ruling. Member States must, through their administration, have a real possibility of ensuring that rules concerning free movement are not abused for the purpose of circumventing the legislation governing aliens."@en1
