lpv:translated text	"A compromise has been reached between the Council and Parliament, allowing these two dossiers to be concluded at first reading. I am delighted with this agreement, which is an important step in the creation of a single European sky. This will allow important improvements to be achieved in terms of flight times, fuel consumption, travel costs and CO emissions. While the first regulation emphasises the performance and the modernisation of the European aeronautical system, the second highlights the demands for safety and ensures that this important development in the management of air traffic in Europe will not take place to the detriment of the safety of aeroplanes and their passengers. Parliament fought for these two texts, which are highly complementary, to be voted on together, and I am pleased that our institution was able to convince the Council on that point. Member States, airlines and passengers: they are all beneficiaries of these new rules, which will prepare air transport for the decades ahead. Thank you for your attention."@en1
