This report deals with a very serious problem and the need for measures to tackle it is made clear. I welcome cooperation between the Member States in this area. I have, nevertheless, chosen to vote against it, as I believe that all health care should be voluntary. I am opposed to regular preventative health check-ups for girls and women who have been granted asylum because of the threat of female genital mutilation, as I believe that it is discriminatory and represents an invasion of privacy."@en1
