We consider that VAT reduction can make a contribution to the maintenance of certain jobs and allow for the creation of others. Each country has submitted experiences which have allowed for some belief in the fact that local conditions need local reactions; this is true of a tax such as VAT. In the UK a general reduction in VAT has led to a fall in inflation of 1% and an injection into the economy of GBP 12 billion."@en1
