lpv:translated text	". Madam President, ladies and gentlemen, I voted in favour of Mr Belet’s report on Community participation in the European Audiovisual Observatory. In my view, the Observatory’s work is very important; it is the only organisation dedicated to gathering and distributing information on the European audiovisual industry and therefore has the task of fostering new developments in the audiovisual field, which have become increasingly significant in recent years as digital technology is used more and more. In addition, through its studies and market analysis it provides valuable help for both policymakers and the audiovisual industry itself. I also agree that the Observatory’s activities should be further extended to include the study of fiscal and labour law regarding the audiovisual sector, thereby strengthening its cooperation with the Member States."@en1
