lpv:translated text	"Mr President, Mr Takkula is no longer here, but he asked a question about whether there is any conflict between having goals at EU level and the fact that the education system will essentially still be a national system. I do not see any conflict. I think that this reference framework builds on goals at EU level while, at the same time, we have confidence in the Member States. We are giving them opportunities and what we are referring to as a toolbox to use. I do not believe that there is any conflict. I would like to underline what Mr Figeľ said about it being more important than ever during the crisis we are now experiencing with regard to the economy and employment to invest in education. This is what will promote the EU’s competitiveness, but it will also give individuals the tools to progress in their lives and to take advantage of further training during their lifetime. I would like to conclude by thanking the Commission once again, and also all of the shadow rapporteurs. We have worked extremely well together throughout the journey and I would like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year."@en1
