Under existing Community legislation governing consumer information on foodstuffs, some indications are compulsory, while others are optional. Will indication of product origin become compulsory? Are changes planned in the labelling of processed products of animal origin? Will the place of origin of the animal by-products used have to be indicated? Will this be compulsory for all Member States? Are specific provisions planned for processed products of animal origin from third countries? What provisions will be introduced for distance or on-line selling of foodstuffs?"@en1
