Too many people have no choice but to work longer hours because their employer demands it of them. The basic principle of labour law is to protect the weaker party – the employee. Today is the first step on the way to conciliation to end the ‘opt out’. It was remiss of the Council of Ministers to have no one present while the vote was taking place."@en1
