"Thank you for the floor. Not many of you in the House know me, as I only became a member in November and today is the first time that I have addressed the House. I asked for the floor in order to greet you and to say that I look forward to our working together but, above all, to salute the achievement we have accomplished today with the vote on rapporteur Mr Cercas’s report.
We have defended the dignity of the working person, we have defended a socially-committed Europe and a Europe of solidarity. Let us adapt work to man, not man to work, as the trade unions say. As far as working hours are concerned, we have been successful today.
Thank you, therefore, to rapporteur Cercas and all of you for voting as you did, and thank you also on behalf of Slovenian workers. Thank you."@en1
