"Mr President, I wished only to add my voice to the condemnation of the terrorist attack or attacks, including a murder, that we have experienced in our country. The Basque people have the misfortune of being the only country in the European Union which continues to experience terrorism, and that terrorism has been on-going for decades. I personally come from a family which endured 40 years of exile – the same as the duration of Francoism – and if we learned anything at all it was that no political objective was worth the life of a single human being. Finally I would like to say that all of us who believe in the Basque people’s right to decide are clear in our minds that the right to life is the most basic right of all."@en1
