"I should like to welcome the Minister to this part-session here in Brussels, rather than in Strasbourg, and say how much I look forward to seeing the French presidency at future part-sessions here in Brussels, rather than in Strasbourg. As a follow-up to that, would he accept that one of the best ways to tackle global poverty is to encourage entrepreneurs in poor countries to start businesses and to create wealth through trade? Given his apparent interest in border adjustment measures – which are really import taxes – how does he respond to the criticism that border adjustment measures are anti-development measures and really a European imperialist protectionist measure to keep out exports from developing countries and to keep poor people in poverty?"@en1
