"The June List is firmly opposed to this report. First, the report refers to the Lisbon Treaty, which has not yet been ratified and is subject to a referendum in Ireland in a month or so. The European Parliament’s federalist majority is thus breaching fundamental constitutional principles. The Lisbon Treaty is also 96% identical to the Constitutional Treaty which has already been rejected in referendums in France and the Netherlands. It is therefore completely unprincipled to refer to the Lisbon Treaty in this report. Secondly, the report means that the EU will go into yet another policy area which the June List considers to be a matter for Member States. We are therefore voting against this report."@en1
