lpv:translated text	"I support Anne Ferreira’s report because I believe that the use of market-based instruments such as taxation, subsidies and emissions trading, for environmental policy purposes are important tools, although not the only ones, for the promotion of sustainable development. Although I agree with this report in general terms, I think it would be premature to introduce a single European tax on CO because it would be difficult to implement alongside the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme. In addition, I do not agree that the existing Community rules on environmental protection should be replaced by market-based instruments which, by their very nature, do not provide an alternative to regulation."@en1
